June 5 marked Florin Tech's second annual health fair. Professional health educators from local organizations such as UC Medical Center and Breathe California joined with medical assistant students from the Charles A. The CAJ Skills Center students did blood pressure, pulse and blood sugar checks. Talks covered important issues like health care rights, keeping food healthy, juvenile obesity, asthma, and effective parenting.
Florin Tech students were joined by students from Pacific and Cesar Chavez morning adult ESL classes. Everyone learned a lot and came away feeling more confident about keeping healthy.
